Ailteir’s principal consultant, working with the senior IT management team, was able to introduce a fit for purpose project portfolio process into one of the larger New Zealand’s Crown Research Institutes. The project selection governance is provided by 3 groups made up in the main from the institute’s senior management team. The process includes the use of current prioritisation techniques for project selection. Ailteir were also responsible for the project management system selection process and implementation of the chosen system, Clarizen, (http://www.clarizen.com).
Ailteir working in tandem with the senior financial management at one of New Zealand largest and well-known youth charities rationalised their project prioritisation process. The charity, when they engaged Ailteir, were considering the replacement of their key financial and CRM systems. Ailteir helped introduce project management process into the organisation and document their portfolio prioritisation procedure.
Ailteir were instrumental in identifying the causes resulting in a strategically mission critical project struggling in one of New Zealand’s largest franchise businesses. The initiative was exhibiting many of the classic symptoms of an unhealthy project. The scope was not clearly understood by the stakeholders, the budget was not tracked and the schedule not adhered to. Ailteir working with key senior IT staff diagnosed the issues and by introducing sound project management processes brought the project back on track
